Sewing Patterns 101

Join us as we demystify patterns on Friday, July 12th from 6-8pm! We will be going over the basics of how to read a sewing pattern. We will explore grain lines, pattern symbols, how to choose your fabric and notions for each pattern, and how to measure yourself for your patterns. You may bring a pattern of your choice to go over in this class, or one will be provided for you in class. You are also welcome to bring fabric with you, but that is not required. We will not be sewing in this class, just covering patterns! We will be going over Simplicity, Vogue, McCalls, and Butterwick patterns. What you will learn from these patterns are easily transitioned to indie patterns from Etsy or other retailers.

In this workshop, students will learn how to take their instant film photography to the next level and create a Polaroid emulsion lift! Local instant film aficionados Lora O'Shaughnessy and John Eric Munoz will walk you through the process of taking your photo, creating up to two Polaroid emulsion lifts, and transferring them to watercolor paper. Join us for this immersive workshop on Thursday, February 29th from 6-8:30pm!

During this workshop, students will learn the art of hand-building with clay as we guide you through the process of creating your very own ceramic cup. Local professional ceramicist, Diana Barns, will guide you through the process of creating a clay slab, adding personalized surface designs of your choice, and construction. Diana will also walk students through customizing their pieces as desired with a wide variety of stamp and texture options, leading to a design that is truly one of a kind!

After the workshop, Diana will fire your piece and glaze it with a signature satin white glaze. Your finished mug will be ready for pickup 3-4 weeks after the workshop. We can also arrange to ship your finished piece for an additional f This workshop is suitable for beginners. All materials and tools will be provided.
