Our Favorite Fall Things in Denton, Texas!

While it may still feel like Summer outside, Fall is just around the corner. We could not be more ready! To get even more excited, we asked our team what Fall things they are most looking forward to in our home of Denton, Texas!
In case you are reading this and aren’t from around the area, Denton is a smaller city and town north of DFW. It houses two universities, many small businesses, lots of families, and a beyond charming downtown area. The DIME Store is located just a block off the Downtown Square.
HANGING AT THE DENTON COURTHOUSE-ON-THE-SQUARE
Shawna: “Taking a sketchbook to the square and hanging out on the courthouse lawn. I've only done it once, but it was so lovely!”
Allie: “When I lived in Denton, I loved grabbing the Chicken Pot Pie at The Chestnut Tree (You have to order it early though because it sells out so fast!!) and then taking a walk around the square.
ENJOYING FOOD AND BREWS AT OUR NEIGHBORS PATIO, EAST SIDE
Madelyn: “I like going to Eastside and having a cold beer. But, since I can't currently have alcoholic beverages, being able to get something to eat from one of the food trucks and chilling out on the benches with a slight evening breeze is always nice.”
GETTING COZY WITH OUR FAVORITE CANDLES
Kristen: “My fav fall thing is the Cardamom and Sandalwood candle. It's perfect for drinking a latte and reading a book.”
Savannah: “Walking my dogs to the park and reading in the grass might be one of my fall favs! Or walking to The Mug for a chai latte.”
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Denton’s Day of The Dead Festival! The coffin races, the costume contest, the multicultural celebration, and so much more! This festival is a late-October Denton staple and we look forward to it every year.
Behind the scenes, each Fall The DIME Store staff is putting the finishing touches on holiday planning and buying! It’s such a magical time of anticipation and we get really excited dreaming up new ways to love on our customers for the holiday season.
