Teens Sewing Summer Camp
School's out for summer but that doesn’t mean the learning has to stop. Join us as we explore the world of sewing during this fun summer sewing camp open to ages 13-18. Camp will be in session July 15th, 16th, 17th from 9-11am. This camp will cover all the basics of sewing so your teen will feel confident to sew their own projects the rest of the summer.
Day One:
Campers will learn the basics of their machine on day one. From threading, to bobbin filling, to practicing stitches in a fun group setting.
Day Two:
Day two we will be putting our day one skills into practice by making a fun reusable bag. This project teaches students hemming, french seams, and how to add a string closure. Day two wraps with us starting our big project, sewing apparel!
Day Three:
Day three we are using all of our skills to complete our big project! Together we will sew a garment! All campers will be sent home with a digital workbook to help them continue their sewing journey at home.
What to bring:
A sewing machine, a notebook and pencil for taking notes, and a water bottle to stay hydrated. Everything else is provided.
This workshop takes place in our Denton storefront located at 118 E McKinney St, Denton, TX.

Meet Your Instructor:
This workshop is taught by Denton's Digital Seamstress, Lillia Whittington. Lillia is a Denton based influencer who is using her love of sewing to educate the community of Denton and online about how to sew. She has been sewing since she was 4 years old, and graduated in 2018 with her BA in Fashion Design. She has worked for Bailey's Blossoms and Haggar Clothing Co. as a technical designer developing patterns and fit across both brands pre-covid. After she was furloughed, she started blogging full time under the name The D. Diaries. Now, Lillia has rebranded to cover her favorite topics of sustainable living and sewing on Just Lillia. Lillia currently is a TA at TWU in their fashion program, runs a sewing school in Denton, and can be found on the weekends with friends, family, and her husband and blind cat, Toph.
